A note from the Coordinator of Study Program

Dear students and future colleagues. Welcome to the study program of Civil Engineering, and to the Burch Family.

I would like to start this note by citing Dr. AR Dykes „Engineering is the art of modelling materials we do not wholly understand, into shapes we cannot precisely analyse so as to withstand forces we cannot properly assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance.”

In behalf of all teaching staff at Civil Engineering Study Program, I want you to be sure that we are always here for you. Not just because of you being our student, but because of our set mission and vision for the future. We do believe in you, and will put our best effort to ensure that tomorrow you will become better scientists and engineers than we are. We will encourage you to learn and advance, and will support your creative ideas and plans. We are offering you the two most valuable things we have: our time and professional experiences. In such collegial environment with mentorship system of work led by academician that are active in the civil engineering professional practice and nationally recognized, you can reach your full potential if you put enough effort in your study, and work as hard as you can to accomplish new engineering skills and to master engineering analysis and calculations. We will teach you how to become and behave as a professional, and to handle complex issues that are expected in construction industry.

It is time to choose whether you want to be an ordinary civil engineer, or to become a widely recognized expert who is able to lead the way in the construction future. It is all about how hard you want to learn and work, as we will follow your steps and push you forward to reach higher levels.

We offer an individual approach for students in which every student is treat in accordance to their current ability and skills, with the aim to achieve the best possible results.

I wish you a very successful years of study at Burch, and in your future steps.

Warm regards.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Sayed
